Hasler Folding Inserting Systems: PS140

The PS140 is Hasler's latest state-of-the-art folding and inserting machine to cover every need for the mid-volume user. With processing speeds of up to 4,500 filled envelopes per hour, the PS140 can be configured for almost any application, from a single document, up to a highly sophisticated multi-station installation, offering 1-17 station capability. The IMOS operating system is a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use touchscreen, Windows-based interface. The screen displays clear graphical images of every station on the machine. Programming could not be easier and there is no limit to how many applications can be stored in the memory for recall at a later date. Switching applications is also very simple and there is no need to stop the mail process for reloading of the hoppers. There is even a 30 second time allotment for refilling the stations, should the machine run out of media. The space saving tower feeders and folders can either be used for cascading or as individual stations containing different media. Folders

The powerful and versatile three-plate folder is capable of producing all fold types for documents with virtually any address position. All folds are set automatically when an application is programmed. It is available with either one or three hoppers providing cascade capability and a maximum capacity of 1,000 sheets. With the addition of the collate station and OMR, the intelligent PS140 can accumulate up to 8 page documents before folding and adding required inserts. A hand-feed option allows pre-collated sets to be folded and inserted.

OMR/Barcode Capability

The PS140 has OMR and Barcode capability. This gives you the flexibility to selectively feed documents, personalize, and give integrity and security to your mailings.

Insert Feeders

The high capacity insert feeder holds up to 300 mail pieces and features a unique separator that can easily cope with a wide variety of inserts from a single 16 lbs document up to a 4mm thick booklet. The hoppers may be loaded during running in order to maximize eficiency.

Document Security

Each individual hopper on the PS140 is equipped with an infra-red electronic double document detection system. This accurately measures both the thickness and length of each document, ensuring the integrity of your mailings.

Operating System

At the heart of the PS140 is Hasler's unique IMOS software. This allows all functions of the system to be programmed from a touch-screen PC system with virtually no manual adjustment, or requirement for tools and costly setup time. Once an application has been programmed, it can be recalled at any time and the PS140 will adjust itself automatically. There is no limit to the number or complexity of applications that can be stored. A full graphical display can be seen, along with speed, production
data, and relevant operator assistance messages. When production is complete, the detailed statistics and datalogging facilities enable the operator to report on any aspect of the application, or to ensure that every document has reached its intended destination. The optional PICS software can then be used to access this data for more detailed reporting, or to produce re-print files.
